Michael has worked at Board level for over 15years. Prior to joining the Senior Civil Service where he worked as Chief Information Officer Michael was Managing Director of an IT outsourcing business, an international services business, and Director of a FTSE 200 utility. Leadership experience in both public and private sector organisations has not only provided Michael with insights into their discrete requirements and cultures, but has also led to an understanding of how the boundary between the two can be effectively developed and managed.

Michael adds significant value to leaders with vision and ambition, whose focus is either to create customer value, to build and enhance productive associations, or to introduce and manage change. His in-depth understanding of ‘people and relationships’ has helped individuals to ‘build bridges’ both within and between organisations. This support has led to tangible success for those seeking to manage change and create growth.

Michael’s particular expertise lies in developing effective human interaction, leadership and change and team working. This is where his focus and ambitions now lie. He regularly delivers workshops on Emotional Intelligence, and its impact on relationships. His capability is founded on sound academic rigour, as well as extensive practical experience. Michael’s particular specialism is in supporting individuals to achieve personal and professional growth and success.

Michael began his professional career in Engineering having graduated with 1st class honours in Civil Engineering [he is a Fellow of that Institution]. His Doctoral research is entitled “Leading and learning: an action research enquiry into leadership development”. Other qualifications include: ILM Level 7 Executive Coach and Mentor; Bar-On EQi (Emotional Intelligence), ILM 72 (Integrated Leadership Measure) and ‘PRINCE’.  Michael is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School and the Henley Management School. He studied acting at London’s Poor School and is a Trustee of a charity.
